May 23 Powerful Potato Workshop!
A sacred New World plant that fed the Incan empire at towering mountain elevations where almost nothing else could grow, and then catalyzed massive shifts in population and politics in Europe after its introduction.
The potato has always been powerful.
Join me for a hands-on community cooking workshop to celebrate this remarkable plant.
More than fancy techniques or a huge repertoire of dishes, it’s back-pocket preparations for the most everyday ingredients that support us most in our journey to feed and nourish ourselves beautifully—and potatoes fit the bill perfectly.
In this workshop, we’ll learn a little potato history and lore, share our own potato memories, and then roll up our sleeves to create a meal together featuring two of my go-to potato preparations before sitting down to eat.
In true Heart Food Song fashion, we’ll round out the meal with colorful accompaniments to hit all the notes.
You’ll leave feeling empowered to feed yourself with this incredible, accessible plant ally.
